Even though we obviously expected more from a first-round pick, I guess we should be happy he's a competent major league pitcher. He has been durable, too, and is a reliable rotation component. As long as he doesn't get paid anything past $5-6 M per year he's not a terrible option.
It's too bad the Mets are going out of their way to destroy whatever goodwill they've built the last 2+ months in the last four games. I smell a 8-19 August to make a very smooth transition to football season.

Pelf was terrible in his first two mini-seasons, but from 2008-2011, he's been a league average pitcher.
