Omar Infante?

I try not to get too worked up about the All-Star selections, but Omar Infante? Jeff Passan has the ridiculousness pretty well covered, but JoePoz sums it up in one sentence:
"The All-Star Game is loaded with bizarre choices through the years, but I think it’s quite possible that Omar Infante is the most bizarre in baseball history."

Also, I had never heard of Evan Meek until he got selected for the team yesterday.

In more joyous news, a glimmer of hope that Wilpon could sell the team.

I just noticed that Ty Wigginton is on the All-Star team, which is pretty silly.
MLB really needs to get rid of the rule requiring one player from each team. Is Baltimore viewership really going to depend on Ty Wigginton's presence on the bench?

Don't teaze me. Agh, as much as I'd like it to be true, we've been hearing these reports for a while. Maybe Jamie McCourt can marry Freddy Coups?
Those attendance figures are staggering, a 35% dropoff from Shea, but I remember reading awhile ago that their per-game-in-stadium revenues are far higher than the Shea days because of all the mindless grazing of the gourmet fare.
